Fall is one of the best times to visit Traverse City and the surrounding area – snow hasn’t starting falling (hopefully!) and the colors are changing. Here are five things that will spice up your autumn.

Geocaching
November all over Northern Michigan

There are more than 1,800 geocaches in Traverse City’s two main Zip Code areas (49684 and 49686). Don’t know what geocaching is? Geocaching is an adventure game for people with GPS (Global Positioning System) devices – small handheld electronic devices that use satellite transmissions to locate exact positions on the ground. Going on a geocache hunt is a great way to add adventure to owning a GPS unit. Individuals and organizations all over the world have set up caches, which can be as simple as a log book or a variety of different items. Whoever sets up a cache places the GPS coordinates on a worldwide website: www.geocaching.com
